Treehouse Practice
Supporting recovery from childhood Trauma
About Treehouse Practice
Treehouse Practice is a specialised, team-based service for young people who have experienced trauma and adversity in their lives, and the adults who support them. We believe all children need to feel loved, safe, soothed and seen.

Meet Our Team
Our Services
Our services are available from our therapeutic home in Sandycove, Co. Dublin and through outreach across the island of Ireland. Our therapeutic approach to Assessment, consultation and intervention involves integrating specialised models. Our team have pursued additional training in therapeutic models known to help support recovery from childhood trauma, including the following: Theraplay, DDP, play therapy, sensory integration, sensory attachment intervention, Video Interactive Guidance (VIG) and child psychotherapy.
Assessments involve integration of attachment-specific measures and trauma specific methodologies to arrive at an individual narrative of the unique impact for the particular young person, and the therapeutic plan that will aid recovery.
For young people for whom multiple previous assessments have occurred and for whom direct assessment would not be appropriate, we offer the Case Formulation Clinic, a collaborative space for adults to reflect on the young person’s strengths and needs and consider therapeutic responses.
Intervention pathways appropriate to the young person’s strengths and needs are determined following assessment. We work with young people and the adults in their lives to strengthen existing relationships and increase emotional safety. We support adults to understand the impact of childhood trauma and their central role in recovery from trauma.
We provide training, reflective practice and supervision to those working in the area of childhood trauma, as well as schools and community services

Making a referral
Referral queries sent are to hello@treehousepractice.ie and the clinical team meets weekly for case discussion.
All new referrals commence with a planning meeting which
allows for exploration of the young person’s strengths and
needs. Recommendations follow this meeting.
If the young person attends for further assessment and/or
intervention, pricing will be dependent on the number of
hours required and the clinicians involved.
